I see on line if you purchase in advance you have to commit to a time slot and they are all in the afternoon. We want to do morning. We also don't want to go with a tour because we will be there for photography and don't want to be rushed, and we would be no matter the pace of the guide.

I am sure you can go self guided as people passed us on our guided tour. We did not feel rushed by the guide and my view is that we saw a lot more as the guide spotted small creatures like bats, spiders praying mantis that we would have missed. We had around 3 hours.

Yes, my wife also needs to rest during walks due to a knee problem. There are benches and places to sit and rest along the way.
