Herr Berggruen was friends with Picasso, so tons of works and history here. Also, Klee and others. Audio tour (included with admission) was very informative. Right across the street from the palace. Full review by 510caryz

Yes. You can also get a museum card from a tourist office that gives entrance to this and other museums.

Can we go without tour?

Yes- no problem. We spent all day there unescorted, and some of the salons were empty. Go early! Eat at their wonderful cafe
