What are the options for a 2 day homestay tour of Lake Titicaca in September, 2020?
A:
Not sure, we stayed in a nice hotel by the shore of the lake with great views of the water. I'm not sure if there's homestay available, you can try Airbnb as well.

I did a homestay with Intrepid Travel and it was excellent. We stayed on the the Peninsula at a place called Llachon. It was very well organised with good interaction with the community, helping with daily chores, including food preparation. It was one of the highlights of my journey through Peru.

It’s very rustic. May not be for everyone. I’m glad I did it for the once in a lifetime experience. But wasn’t necessarily the make or break of the trip. Yes language is a barrier. We Brought few food staples to the family as host gift. It was COLD - 4 or 5 blankets at night. But the baying of the family donkey at midnight was charm. No vehicles. Strictly hiking.. No running water so had to flush the toilet outside our hut with handy bucket of water. One lightbulb in our room=electricity. My daughter and I were glad we experienced this unique opportunity. But it’s not a requirement in experiencing the culture and Peruvian experience.
Q:
Hi Martin, In which hotel did you stay? Did you see any lizards/geckos in the area? Thanks! Arlene
A:
Hotel Jose Antonio, Puno. There's abundant wildlife in and around the lake.
