Well worth a visit - circa 60-90 mins. Interesting history, own car park, toilets, ticket office and gift shop. Located close to a pretty village with pub/tea-rooms and church. Good for families. Full review by Jan T

It is well kept for a ruin, but don’t plan any more than say 30 mins for a visit. Happy to pay the £6 as it goes towards it’s preservation. Free car park with some basic, but clean toilets at the bac… Full review by Li S

Fantastic site to visit a very historic castle. Best of all were the tearooms, and it may be best to book in advance. They are a real gem to eat at . the small breakfasts are as big as full breakfast… Full review by gbhughes25

We've seen many dogs there the multiple times visiting the castle! No one seemed to mind!
