The best Hike in Dumfries and Galloway bar none. Scenic, well maintained, diverse scenery and a wonderful pay off at the end with Loch Skene. If physically able I’d recommend it to anyone. Full review by Alexander A

Amazing views en route to the destination and a lovely place to visit. Smile, moderate and a longer, more challenging walk. Full review by SaddleworthClaire

Q:
Hi there, I was wondering would it be possible be access this location by some form public transport (e.g. by bus or taxi or hire a driver) from the town of Moffat? We would be passing by Moffat during out travels (by bus); Would love to visit the Grey Mare's Tail during the day but will probably not have access to a car. Alternatively, would it be possible to rent a bike and cycle to the location entrance and have a place to store the bicycles while we climb? Would appreciate any advice and thank you!
A:
Nowhere to store bikes at Grey Mare's Tail, not sure what the bus situation is as I drive.
Q:
Can I take a dog?
A:
Yes, it’s an open area.
Q:
Hi, can we carry buggy up to waterfall ?
A:
No I would say not It’s high and possible dangerous? Maybe carry baby in backpack carrier ? That might be safer ? Also phone National Trust to check
