One person was sent to the hospital after a house fire Sunday afternoon in northwest Charlotte. According to the Charlotte Fire Department, it happened on Fern Avenue just after 12:30 p.m. Charlotte firefighters controlled the fire in 10 minutes.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – One person died in a house fire in south Charlotte on Friday night. Around 7 p.m., firefighters responded to a home showing heavy fire in the 1000 block of Montford Drive. Medic also responded to the scene and pronounced one victim dead at the scene. Another victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
