Ejiro Evero just coordinated the worst defense in the history of the National Football League. In most careers, finishing a calendar year with the worst results your industry has ever seen usually calls for change.

One staff member that a lot of Panthers fans are wondering about is defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero. Carolina finished the regular season ranked dead last in total defense, but Dave Canales said that Evero will be back next year.

There was little, if any doubt that the Panthers defense was going to take a step back in 2024. The unit lost its three top sack artists from 2023—one of which was two-time Pro Bowler Brian Burns—and didn’t add much name value in return.
