For a few months in F1 2024, it looked as though Max Verstappen could lose his grasp on the World Drivers’ Championship to McLaren rival Lando Norris — only for Norris to lose out through a series of mistakes.

Verstappen’s approach was controversial, to say the least. The Red Bull driver’s camp labelled it as brave and committed, the true sign of a champion. Others, including Norris and George Russell, took a dim view of his driving standards, with the latter berating his aggression in an instantly iconic interview in Abu Dhabi.

Lando Norris has issued an honest assessment of his fiery championship battle with four-time world champion Max Verstappen. McLaren star Norris claimed four victories in 2024, taking the fight to Verstappen following the Dutchman's blistering start to the season.
