A baby seal found stranded on a street near Connecticut’s Yale University last month has died from severe digestive issues, a local aquarium announced Monday. Mystic Aquarium said “Chappy,” a nod to Chapel Street in New Haven where he was rescued,

The gray seal, named “Chappy,” was admitted to the Mystic Aquarium’s Animal Rescue Clinic on Feb. 16 after being discovered near the downtown of New Haven, Connecticut. While he was initially recovering from dehydration, malnutrition, and mild pneumonia, he eventually succumbed to gastrointestinal issues.
