Anaheim police fatally shot a man while responding a report of a possible robbery in a neighborhood where investigators later discovered a replica firearm, authorities said Saturday.

A 'realistic-looking replica firearm' was located at the scene and officers rendered first aid to the man after shooting him, a police statement said.

The police shooting happened on the 200 block of East South Street after officers responded to calls regarding a possible robbery.

Police in Anaheim shot and killed a man that they say was suspected of robbery on Friday night. The officers were called to a reported robbery at about 8 p.m. in the 1200 block of E. South Street, according to the Anaheim Police Department.
