Dickerson broke O.J. Simpson's previous rushing yards record in 1984, almost a decade after the former Heisman Trophy winner set his mark. Now, 40 years after Dickerson's incredible feat, Barkley has the chance to make his own history... and hopefully the Eagles give him that chance.

The status of Saquon Barkley's pursuit of the NFL single-season rushing record remains up in the air. Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni said during his weekly radio show with 94WIP on Tuesday that he will meet with players and team brass before deciding whether Barkley will play in Sunday's regular season finale against his old team,

The NFL is about winning games, not setting records, and anyway, this one would be contrived in spirit and asterisked in fact, since it would come in a 17th game. The fellas need a break.
