Colorado will see its first “substantial” snowfall of the season on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. Just two weeks ago, NWS meteorologists confirmed the first dusting of snow on Colorado’s mountains.

The weather makes a big change overnight just in time for the start of fall. Denver’s weather will be wet Saturday night, with the first accumulating snow of the season in the mountains.

Golden fall color could be accented by the arrival of high elevation snow in northern and central mountain areas this weekend. According to National Weather Service meteorologist Russell Danielson a “pretty strong storm” is forecast
