Former Minnesota Vikings 1st round pick Lewis Cine has been signed by the Philadelphia Eagles for the wildcard game against the Packers.

The Philadelphia Eagles have added depth to their safety group, just days before Sunday’s playoff opener against the Green Bay Packers. Philly poached former Minnesota Vikings first-round pick Lewis Cine off of the Buffalo Bills practice squad on Wednesday.

To make room for the former Giants starter, the Vikings waived Brett Rypien. This marks the second time this year Rypien has been let go; the Bears released him in August. Rypien had resided on Minnesota’s active roster since signing with the team two days later.

The gauntlet that is the NFL regular season is over, and the seven teams in each conference that managed to separate themselves over that 17-game marathon are the only ones who remain standing.

There have been 58 Super Bowls played in NFL history, and somehow, there are still 12 teams that have yet to win a Lombardi Trophy. However, that number could be going down by one this year and that's because there are five teams in the playoffs that will have a chance to end their Super Bowl drought.
