A federal judge has halted the Trump administration’s efforts to dismantle the Voice of America, the eight-decade-old U.S. government-funded international news service.

A federal judge on Friday ordered U.S. President Donald Trump's administration to temporarily pause its efforts to shut down Voice of America, stopping the government from firing 1,300 journalists and other employees at the U.

Voice of America journalists argued in a lawsuit that the administration’s actions violated their First Amendment rights.
