Brent Venables pulled the trigger on inserting Michael Hawkins in place of Jackson Arnold at QB vs. Tennessee. Though Hawkins gave OU a spark, Venables said the battle is open.

On 1st-and-10 for the Sooners following the second forced fumble, Arnold threw a pass behind the line of scrimmage. It was scooped up by Volunteer Jakobe Thomas. Eight Dylan Sampson rushes later — yes, eight runs in a row for the Tennessee tailback — and the Volunteers paid off the third Arnold turnover with a touchdown.
