A Memphis man has been arrested in Chicago in connection to the September death of an Arkansas Department of Transportation contract worker, the Arkansas State Police announced Monday.

The former Razorbacks ace has been pitching well in Spring Training, working towards a main roster spot in the future.

Arkansas head coach John Calipari is very familiar with going up against Duke as he met up with the Blue Devils often in the Champions Classic when he was at Kentucky. Now, Calipari is the head coach of the Arkansas basketball team, but he will go up against Duke in a familiar venue as the Champions Classic is often held in Chicago as well.

The Arkansas State Legislature recognized Natural State basketball legend Scottie Pippen for his achievements and contributions both on the court and in his community on Thursday.

Calvion Dayshun Thomas, 24, was pulled over during a traffic stop by Chicago police and arrested on Feb. 17, Arkansas State Police said in a Feb. 24 news release. He’s charged with murder, battery, theft by receiving and fleeing.

Duke will take on Arkansas in a primetime tilt on Thanksgiving night, November 27, at the United Center in Chicago.
