Fans of the Mount Rushmore State will love this: a list of awesome ideas for things to do in South Dakota in 2025.

Hundreds of people gathered in South Dakota on Wednesday for a hearing regarding a second attempt by Summit Carbon Solutions to gain a permit for the project.

The seventh “Hockey Day South Dakota” celebrated hockey in the state on Saturday and featured four games in the Denny Sanford. Click on the video viewer to watch highlights of one of those games featuring: -Sioux Falls West Flyers boys defeating the Mitchell Marlins 5-1.

Eric Eidsness and Dan Jackson took jobs at Northern Illinois. Jason Eck was named head coach of Idaho. Brian Bergstrom became head coach of Winona State, Rob Erickson at Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Northwestern scooped up young offensive coordinator Zach Lujan and defensive line coach Christian Smith.

WSU’s wide receivers coach is Jake Menage, who coached the Jackrabbits’ WRs each of the previous two years. The Cougars’ safeties coach is Menage’s cousin, Pete Menage, who worked the same job at SDSU the past two seasons.

A La Niña winter just started, but it isn’t expected to last long. National forecasters are already looking ahead to the spring season.
