NEW YORK (AP) — Tyler Herro scored 25 points, Bam Adebayo had 17 points and 15 rebounds, and the Miami Heat beat the Brooklyn Nets 106-97 on Saturday night.
It wasn’t easy for Herro to get over the feelings of resentment and rejection that come with returning to a team that seemed on the verge of trading you. Observations and other notes of interest from Wednesday night’s 126-106 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers: – Tyler or no Tyler? – That will become known by 7 p.m. Thursday, when Eastern Conference reserves are named for the All-Star Game.
Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra is a believer that Tyler Herro should be an All-Star reserve, which won't be announced until Thursday.
“I’m pretty anxious, I ain’t gonna lie,” Herro said ahead of Wednesday night’s matchup between the Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers at Kaseya Center. “I feel like this is almost like my first time looking forward to something since draft night. In the second OT, Duncan Robinson delivered an alley-oop to Adebayo, and Adebayo drove past Anthony Black for a jam after two Magic misses, putting Miami up four. A Wendell Carter Jr. three-point play pulled Orlando within one, but Kel’El Ware then tapped back a miss to Adebayo, who passed to Herro for a three that put Miami up four with 1:39 left.
