Guatemala’s Volcano of Fire is erupting, and authorities have evacuated nearly 300 families while warning that another 30,000 people in the area could be at risk.

Guatemala’s "Volcán de Fuego" or “Volcano of Fire” started erupting late Sunday night, sending lava high into the night sky. And while the video is spectacular, the danger forced hundreds of families from their homes and thousands more may be at risk.

The Volcán de Fuego, located south-west of Guatemala's capital city, has been erupting more and more violently since Sunday. A huge column of ash and gas is rising above the mountain. Around 30,000 people in three districts have been ordered to seek safety.
