It could be a white Christmas after all in Colorado’s high country. A wide swath of the state from Telluride to Winter Park could receive between 1 and 4 inches of snow Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

Snow is continuing to fall along the metro, creating hazardous road conditions for the Tuesday morning commute.

Colorado’s mountains are forecast to welcome New Year’s Day with a round of snow. Light snow is expected to begin falling Wednesday afternoon and evening, becoming heavier overnight and into Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

A Pinpoint Weather Alert Day will be in effect Tuesday as snowfall moves into Denver’s weather Monday night through Tuesday morning creating slick driving conditions. FOX31 Chief Meteorologist Dave Fraser has a closer look at where the storm impacts will be the worst.

Snow makes its way back into the Denver metro area on Monday and it'll feel like full-blown winter for the first week of January 2025.

Metro Denver and its surrounding suburbs will see between 2 and 6 inches of snow between Monday and Tuesday, NWS forecasters said.
