Jail records show the Pine County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 31-year-old man Friday on suspicion of second-degree murder. The Star Tribune typically does not name suspects until they are charged.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested following the death of a 45-year-old in Cardiff, police say.

After being cleared by the hospital, the suspect, 22-year-old Evan Gault, was arrested and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges: Criminal Attempt to Commit 2nd Degree Murder Menacing with a Real/Simulated Weapon Violation of a Protection Order Possession of a Schedule I/II Controlled Substance Possession of Drug Paraphernalia The incident remains under investigation.
