The Enforcement Directorate has seized ₹8.8 crore from Santiago Martin's corporate office in Chennai amid a money laundering probe involving his lottery operations.

At least 20 premises linked to Santiago Martin, his son-in-law Aadhav Arjun and associates in Chennai and Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, Faridabad, Ludhiana and Kolkata were searched.

The raids come after Madras HC overturned a lower court’s dismissal of charges and mandated further investigation.

The action follows a Madras High Court order overturning the closure of a money laundering case against the businessman.

For the second time this year, the Enforcement Directorate on Thursday raided the properties and office premises of lottery baron Santiago Martin and his relatives in Chennai and Coimbatore.

At least 20 premises linked to Martin, his son-in-law Aadhav Arjun and associates in Chennai and Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, Faridabad in Haryana, Ludhiana in Punjab and Kolkata in West Bengal were being searched as part of a "comprehensive" action against his business empire.
