Voters in Ireland were more than usually busy in 2024, casting their ballot in five different polls – for two referenda in March, local and European ballots in June and a general election in November.

A murder investigation has been launched after a stabbing victim died in north-west London. Officers were called to reports of an attack in Linacre Road, Willesden Green, at around 4.16am on Saturday.
