Drivers trying to get to North Beach or Portland will now take the right lane to 181 as they had for years before a temporary detour.

It's been 100 years since the first work to build the Port of Corpus Christi began. But the land surrounding the area was also the city's first subdivision.

A spokesperson said the ramp closures are necessary to realign the frontage road for final connectivity to the new Harbor Bridge.
