Sony Honda’s first EV set for 2026 debut in U.S., self-driving
Sony Honda Mobility Inc. has begun accepting orders for the debut model of its electric vehicle brand, Afeela, in the United States.

But that turned out to be exactly the plan. Although Sony began developing its EV with the contract manufacturer (and tier 1 supplier) Magna Steyr, the car— now called the Afeela 1 —will be built by Honda, which formed a strategic alliance with Sony to create the aforementioned Sony Honda Mobility, which will sell the new car.
The Sony-Honda Afeela EV Will Start At $102,900, Arrive In Mid-2026
The Afeela 1's debut model, the Signature series, will start at $102,900 and deliveries are slated to start in mid-2026. If that's a bit too steep for you, consider waiting until 2027 for the Origin trim. That one is only going to be $89,900. Refundable reservations will be taken online for $200 .
