Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday made another big poll promise ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections scheduled on February 5. The former Delhi CM announced free electricity and water for tenants in Delhi if AAP wins the elections.

Delhi Police clarified that it can neither grant nor reject such permission at this time as all permissions for political activities are granted through a single window system in the concerned DEO office.

Kejriwal assured that, if his party wins, tenants — many of whom belong to the Purvanchal region — will also be able to access the free utilities.

Delhi will go to polls in a single phase on February 5, with a fierce triangular contest between the AAP, BJP and the Congress setting the political temperatures soaring in the cold wave-gripped national capital.

Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal has been actively rolling out various schemes to woo voters ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. The national capital will vote on February 5 and results will be declared on February 8.
