Viewers of Gavin and Stacey: A Fond Farewell on BBC One last night were treated to a huge surprise as one of the show’s longest-running mysteries was addressed. The official finale of the series aired on Christmas Day, with fans getting the satisfaction of a lot of loose ends being tied up.

The hour-long documentary which aired on New Year's Day, showed some footage designed to look like an old camcorder video.
