The product, family-sized, 48-ounce cartons of Great Value Chicken Broth, are sold in aseptic paper cartons that could “compromise the sterility of the product, resulting in spoilage,” according to an announcement posted on the Food and Drug Administration’s website.

Walmart has recalled more than 2,000 cases of Great Value Family Size Chicken Broth sold in Texas and eight other states. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration reported the recall in December affecting the broth with a shelf life lasting until March 2026.

An FDA Enforcement Report said TreeHouse Foods, which made the broth for Walmart, issued a recall on Dec. 11 and phoned consignees in Alabama and Arkansas.
