Mar 27, 2013 · 1 post · Joined 2014. #30 · Mar 15, 2014. With my 2001 Scotts 1642 Hydrostatic trans mower, mowed 1 acre, level lawn, no problem. Parked it. Got back on the next week, no movement. No forward, no reverse. Start it up, depress the brace/clutch pedal, the shift lever is locked solid in neutral.

May 19, 2020 · Scotts S1642 shifter and brake adjustments help! I been working on a Scotts S1642 riding mower. I've recently repaired the hydrostatic transmission by replacing the input shaft and pulley. I also brought the engine from the dead since I basically drug this mower out of the field. The mower drives nicely and goes around my yard hills easily.

May 7, 2024 · Scott's S1642 How do you replace the Hydrostatic Fan. I have a Scott's Lawn tractor ( Model # 1642h Serial # GX1642s05065). It was made by John Deere. I brought back to life for my grandkids to drive around in the woods. Recently the drive belt failed and took out the hydrostatic fan. I seen some videos on replacing the belt but nothing on the fan.

Apr 6, 2009 · I have a Scotts (by john deer) with a kohler 16hp single cyl engine thats driving me nuts. I bought this mower cheap last year because a switch broke and it wouldnt start. I managed to get a replacement switch off one of my parts craftsmans and it cranked ok. The gas was a bit old so I rebuilt the carbueretor.
