Feb 23, 2022 · New to the area, first time homebuyers. So we moved to a house in the 27603 area back in October '21. We noticed that last November, Duke Energy included a ~$6 charge for a streetlight. When we called them, they said that it's for a streetlight on our property. We don't have a streetlight on our property, so the call got escalated to someone else.

For me, Duke Energy's Budget Billing algorithm is broken. The problem started in March of '21 when Duke Energy started lowering my monthly payments throughout the year by about 20%. Jun 23, 2021 · So, I just got hired on with Duke in the Carolinas and the process took about 4 months. I applied two months into line school and the way it went was; CAST, Video interview, Physical test, and then Hire decision. The longest stretch was between the CAST and the interview, the time between physical test and hiring decision is about a month.

Duke has interconnects to SC Public Service Authority, Dominion Energy SC, Southeastern Power Administration, Southern Company, TVA, and Alcoa, actively passing about 1000 MWh of electricity. You make it sound like there are tons of nearby power plants that are isolated from the grid we're on, and there just aren't.

Jul 14, 2022 · This is driven by PHMSA and Duke has an obligation to disconnect you if they’re not able to perform the inspection per code. It’s always best to call Duke Energy directly though if in doubt because so many people are shady with things like this. The inspection is called an IPI (Inside Piping Inspection) if you do call to ask if you’re due.

Jun 25, 2022 · I believe Duke will do an energy audit for you if you ask the right questions. May be worth asking your landlord/rental company to look into it as well. Make sure nothing has been added to your meter (like a new tenant got cut on this month and they hooked it to the wrong meter, so you’re suddenly getting readings for 2 apartments).
