Force (correct) ultrawide resolution on Monitor - Super User
Jul 13, 2019 · I have an LG Ultrawide monitor with a native resolution of 2560x1080, now paired with a Surface Pro 6 (SP6) running Windows 10 Pro x64 (I upgraded). I am using a Mini Display Port to HDMI adapter for display, via the Surface Pro 3 Dock. The problem: I cannot get the SP6 to give any ultrawide resolutions. The highest it gives me is 1920x1080.

On the Drivers Tab, click Update Driver, then choose 'Browse My Computer for Drivers' and then, Let me pick from a list....'. Untick the option to show compatible drivers, then scroll down to find the LG drivers.

Feb 2, 2021 · The aspect ratio of a 3,840 x 2,160 monitor is 16:9, while the aspect ratio of a 2,560 (which is what I think you mean) x 1,080 monitor is 21:9. That explains the stretching. 2,850 x 1,080 is something of an oddball resolution. 2,560 x 1,080 is more prevalent (because it corresponds more closely to 21:9 which is a common resolution for ultrawides.)
