Feb 21, 2008 · I am hoping someone can help. I have been working on this sled for awhile. I have had it in the Polaris shop, they couldn't figure it out, and I've had two other mechanics look at it. It is a 1995 Polaris Indy 500 EFI. The sleds starts up fine, sounds great idleing. As soon as I start to take off, it bogs down and starts to stall.

Sep 26, 2002 · I have a 97 Indy 500. It starts to run hot and wants to overheat after running 1/2 to WOT throttle for a few minutes (lake or trail riding). When you stop the sled it immediately cools back to normal operating temp (per the temp gauge). I would assume it would run hot during idle and cool off when mobile because of cold air circulation???

Jan 7, 2008 · Don't bother buying the ECU computer unit. My 95 Indy 500 EFI is doing just about the same thing your sled it, and I did buy one, didn't do any good. The only thing I haven't tried yet is replacing the chip inside the ECU unit. The chip is about $200 from the dealership. Don't bother buying the air temp sensor either, I tried that too.
