He was introduced in the 1977 film Star Wars, [u] and later appeared in The Empire Strikes Back (1980), Return of the Jedi (1983), The Force Awakens (2015), and The Rise of Skywalker (2019); Harrison Ford portrays Solo in all five films.

After breakthrough supporting roles in American Graffiti (1973) and The Conversation (1974), he gained worldwide fame for his role as Han Solo in the space opera film Star Wars (1977), a part he reprised in four sequels over the next four decades.
