My name is Sam Newman and I am an author, speaker, and independent consultant interested in cloud, continuous delivery and microservices. Aside from other things I've spoken at more than a few conferences, and wrote some things including the books Building Microservices and Monolith To Microservices for O'Reilly.

The 2nd edition is a complete rewrite of the previous best selling edition. It is aimed at giving a broad overview of all aspects related to microservices.

Building Microservices, 2nd Edition. The 2nd edition was published in late 2021, and is now widely available. A completely revised version of 2015's Bulding Microservices.

Translations And Other Formats. At present, there are plans to translate the book into Portuguese, German, and Chinese (simplified), in addition to creating an audio book.

Things I've Done. After 12 years working at ThoughtWorks, I have taken the plunge and am now working as an independent consultant and speaker.. Along with Andy Yates I also created the Lego XP Game many years ago, a game designed to teach the basics of Agile in a workshop form.
