Jun 20, 2018 · FFXIV's latest expansion, Endwalker, is out now! Does the combat get better? Trying to find a game to replace wow. I am only level 20ish. So far the combat is a deal breaker it feels way to slow. Thought maybe it was just the muarader so I switched to lancer and leveled it to same point. Lancer feels a little better but still really slow.

ANY mmo that’s out is going to have bare bones combat till cap. FFXIV is just more painful to get there because the gcd is longer than other MMOs. That is true, but here's the funny part: I enjoyed WoW's combat from level 1 and on.

There's two sides to it - the story and FF-like RPG experience, and the MMO combat stuff. Some people do purely play for the story, and it's a very good one, one of the best. But arguably it doesn't actually get good until after level 50, which already takes quite a lot of time investment.

Jul 26, 2022 · So my opinion on a hypothetical future action combat Final Fantasy MMO is... neutral. Could go either way. If XVI has fun combat, I might get more interested. (And if, say, FF17 is an action combat MMO, it won't be directly competing with XIV for a playerbase.
