Replacement Battery for 22NF - Simple trACtors
Jan 10, 2004 · Some of the recent posts have mentioned using a Group Size 51 or 51R battery as a replacement for the 22NF originally supplied with some of the tractors. I don't remember anyone mentioning using a Group Size 45 battery. The #45 battery has the same dimensions as the #22NF battery. See link below for battery dimensions.

Anyone buy a 22NF battery lately? - Simple trACtors
Dec 26, 2012 · I did some shopping around and found: TSC was nearly $100 for the 22NF, I think Orcheln's was $80, but their warranty was only someting like 30 days. Rural King didn't stock the 22NF. I can get the 22NF through my work, it would be a JD strongbox battery and have a 36 month pro-rated warranty, Even at my price its over $100.

May 1, 2013 · The Group 22NF battery in my 1970 Simplicity 3212V has finally died. The 22NF's are hard to find around here & not cheap. I saw some posts that the Group 58 batteries like the later model Sovereigns used is a little stronger & much more readily available. I tried to find the answer already, but no luck searching.

The 51R is a automotive sealed battery available in Gold series with a 6-year warranty for $120 ($20/yr) or in Platinum with a 7-year warranty for $146 ($21/Yr). The 22NF has the case tie down feet whereas the 51R does not.
