The solution is to do as the French do, the bigger overseas territories, can be granted a specific MP, but the smaller ones should be grouped together and form "overseas" constituents. Then with additional "overseas" constituents, where people that vote from abroad is counted from.

Both of the Channel Islands had French language-based legal systems until after the second world war, and as part of their legal training you need to study in France for a while, including being fairly fluent in French in order to understand the old laws.

Need a passport as it's not part of Schengen space, but you can work and live in those territories if you wished, as they are part of the EU. The British Overseas Territories are not. NOTE: Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man are Crown dependencies, not Overseas Territories. Slightly different.

This can't exactly be because the bases don't have a permanent population, as other unpopulated British overseas territories like South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands as well as the disputed British Antarctic Territory do have flags on their own. Dec 25, 2021 · Somewhere down the timeline the British Royalty moved their capital from the British Isles to the New World. And so America becomes the core of the British Empire and with it's place of power it can more effectively keep it's other territories. Perhaps eventually the empire would transform into it's present constituional monarchy but with a twist.

Chances are any other overseas territories becoming independent would be handled the same way, but there's no established rule that would automatically apply.
