Holyhead Port to remain shut due to 'extensive' storm damage
Dec 16, 2024 · Mr Skates said the port authority had indicated it would remain shut until at least Thursday (December 19) as repair work continues. In a written statement, the cabinet secretary for transport said: "The Port of Holyhead has been closed since last weekend due to damage to critical berthing infrastructure inflicted by Storm Darragh.

On March 25, 2023, Butterworth trespassed into the Deiniol Centre on Bangor High Street while it was closed, using a tool to break the glass doors of an antique shop to break in.
